3 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, *hath God said*, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
In this year 2021 God has clearly spoken to us that this is a year in which we begin our journey back to Sonship. The year of the Revelation of the Sons of God. But one thing we must handle is the original reason why mankind lost that position of Sonship. What happened, that we lost that position of sonship. The rank and the role of Sons of God.
In order for us to be effective in our endeavor, we must make sure that we examine the root cause of the fall of man, understand it, and receive the grace to properly handle and address it so that we are no longer caught unawares.
From the beginning, we have come to understand that Adam and Eve as sons of God were in charge of the garden to tend and manage the growth and expansion of the garden. Gen 3 begins to tell us the story of what happened during that era of Sonship that caused man to lose his position.
The Bible says that the serpent was more subtle or cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.
This is a very interesting statement but also disturbing. We are presented with one of the animals supposedly created by God and named by Adam. When God finished the creation He said everything was good (Gen 1:25). But here we have one of the elements of creation deviating from that word that God said that everything was good. Did God lie when He said everything was good?
The Bible says God is not a man to lie neither the son of man to repent of His words Numbers 23:19. So it is not in God’s nature to lie, there must have been another twist to this story.
The mere fact that you have one of the animals that Adam named trying to cause mutiny against the creator should tell you that there was a twist in that story. The whole world was subject to Adam every living thing every animal every creature. They knew and acknowledged that Adam was their master and ruler upon the earth and that God was their creator. Remember that in Gen 1:26 God said “let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
And in vs 28 God blessed them and gave them dominion over the whole earth. So every living thing knew and acknowledged Adam as their ruler and king. So no when you begin to see the events of Gen 3 unfolding, the serpent rising up to incite rebellion and mutiny, you know for a fact that there was a twist of events. Let us go back to Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14 to get some clues.

13 Thou hast been in *Eden the garden of God*; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14 *Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth*; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the *holy mountain of God*; thou hast walked up and down in the *midst of the stones of fire*. 15 Thou wast *perfect* in thy ways from the day that thou wast *created*, till iniquity was found in thee.
This is a very powerful scripture that brings light to the origin of a lot of things that we are expiring today. It explains everything that we see happening in Adam’s garden of Eden.
We are made to understand that Adam’s garden of Eden was not the first garden of Eden to be created. God has his own personal garden of Eden in the realms of heaven. And that was a place of intimacy and connection, a place of fellowship where God would share secrets with whomever he brought there. That is why even when Jesus was a man on the earth he would go into the garden of Gethsemane to pray and have fellowship with the father. So much so that even before he went to the cross he had to stop by the garden to fellowship with the Father. It was a place of intimacy, secrets, fellowship, and communion. God's desire for us is for that level of intimacy in the garden to be restored. For us to return to a place of deep connection with God, a place of worship, a place of koinonia and spirit to spirit communication. When you come from such a place you carry the secrets of God, the intimate presence of God, the unique glory of God, and the manifestation of his power. In this year as Sons of God May God empower us to return to the garden and learn to spend time with the Father.
So from this passage, we clearly understand that Lucifer was in God’s garden and must have been there for a long time because he was called the son of the morning, the light bearer. Meaning that he would spend so much time with God that the light of God will saturate him like it did Moses in the mountain when his face began to shine. But something happened to Lucifer that caused him to lose his position in that garden the Eden of God. Let's go to Isaiah to see exactly what happened.
*Isaiah 14:13-14* King James Version
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
In this scripture we see Lucifer speaking. He said in his heart he was going to ascend into heaven, i.e. God’s domain of dwelling. He wanted to exalt his throne above the stars of God. Above the other sons of God, to sit upon the mount of congregation that we see in Job 1:6 and 2:1 where the Sons of God will gather to present themselves to God on his mountain. He wanted to be like the most High.
Here you see an elaborate plan of Lucifer to set up a parallel government quite like God had in heaven. Because he had been given access to the garden he took that access for a right and wanted to be like the most high. But if you continue reading from vs 15 downwards you will see that he was eventually cast down from Gods realm of heaven
So we see here that the devil lost access to heaven and to the original garden of God. So when he sees God created another garden and put man whom he created in that garden, it reminded Lucifer of the position that he had lost. This anger, remorse and regret now begins to fuel the scheme and plan that Lucifer against God.
Remember that his goal was to be like God. In Isaiah 14:14 he said “I WILL BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH”. And that is the same strategy that he begins to sell to Adam and Eve. He comes into the garden of Eden and begins to look for one of the creatures that he can influence in the garden of Eden to use them as a tool and instrument to advance his goal and agenda. He influences the serpent to beguile Eve and what is the goal? “TO BE LIKE GOD”, same thing he said in Heaven in Isaiah 14:14.
The only difference now is that he knows what the outcome of that agenda is, i.e. being cast out of the domain of your dwelling in the garden before the presence of God.
So since he lost his place his desire to ensure that man also does not maintain his position in the garden and in the presence of God. But we thank God that he always has the final say. The devil thought after man was cast out of the garden that was the end of it all but after 4000 years of hopelessness Jesus showed up on the scene.
So ...
1 Cor 15:45 will tell us that “So it is written: The first man Adam became a living being;” but the last Adam a life giving spirit” … why ? because
Roman 8:2 says “For in Christ Jesus the Law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death”
Even though the enemy elaborately planned to forever condemn and take man out of the presence of God, because of the sacrifice of the second Adam, Jesus Christ, there is an open door to restoration. People of God we must arise and take our stand against the wiles of the enemy. We can no longer be ignorant of the agenda of the serpent to take us out of the position of sonship in the garden and to keep us away from the presence of God. We must take our stand and according to Luke 10:19 Destroy the snakes and scorpions that show up in and around our gardens, our lives, our families, our homes as well as all the powers of the enemy for we know that nothing shall by any means do us any harm.
